Shift in psychiatric treatment? STAT!Ref has you covered.A declining number of office-based psychiatrists appear to be providing psychotherapy to their patients, according to a report in the August issue of Archives of General Psychiatry. The authors attribute the trend to reimbursement policies favoring brief medication management visits rather than psychotherapy and the introduction of newer psychotropic medications with fewer adverse effects.

Quoted
Manic Depressive Illness: Bipolar Disorders and Recurrent Depression"This is the Bible of manic-depressive illness and recurrent depression. It is the secure basis for all kinds of scientific and clinical expeditions. It unifies an immense past knowledge with the standards of the present and creates the roadmap for the future. In this book, no field and no aspect of mood and mood-related disorders remain uncovered." -- Prof. Dr. Med. Dr. H.C. Andreas Marneros, (Psychiatric University Clinic, Halle-Wittenberg/Germany)
Oxford Textbook of Psychotherapy"This is a major work...There is no other textbook on psychotherapy like this available. This is clearly a book that belongs to the library of all those interested in and practicing psychotherapy, all trainees, and all training programs... It seems that my preconceived idea was correct-this is a major publishing event. So, 'buy' is the final recommendation." -- Annals of Clinical Psychiatry
